Why specialty coffee

We know where it comes from

The country, the farm, who roasted it. That is not a specialist's footnote — it is the difference between good coffee and any old coffee.

Freshly roasted

We work with Romanian coffee roasteries and buy small amounts, often. Coffee is meant to be drunk young.

Carrying on Casa cu delicii

Joy Coffee began as a way to carry on the Casa cu delicii project and change how coffee is drunk in Slatina.

Specialty coffee

Freshly roasted coffee, pulled on the espresso machine.

    A single shot, pulled short. The starting point for everything else on the list.

    Two shots, same extraction.

  • Cortado

    Espresso cut with steamed milk. Intense but rounded.

    A double shot with finely textured milk. You taste the coffee; the milk carries it.

    The classic, with a velvet foam.

    A lungo: the same extraction as espresso, just longer — no water added. Not the same drink as an Americano.

Filter coffee

Slow extraction, for when you want to taste the origin in the cup.

    Hand-poured, cup by cup. Ask the barista which beans are on today.
